Frequently Asked Campground Questions
How many people can be in a campsite?
Our rates are per person and not per site. Our camping site varies in size and we do our best to accommodate any size group you bring. Check out our site options under camping.
How do I "add-on" to someone else's group?
Call our office (715-247-3305) and explain that you’d like to add on to someone’s camping reservation. If you are making a camping reservation online at appleriver.com, fill out your camping information and then type the full name of the other camping reservation you would like to add to in the box that reads, “is there a group you would like to add on to?”.
Are there fire pits available?
Yes! We do have fire pits available at most campsites.
Can we bring our own firewood?
No. St. Croix County has been under a firewood ban since 2009. This means that campers cannot bring in their own firewood. This ban is necessary because firewood can harbor many kinds of invasive pests and diseases harmful to Wisconsin’s trees. There is documented locally cut or sanitized firewood available to purchase in our camp store. Please check out the Wisconsin DNR website for more information about the firewood ban.
Are there grills available?
Yes, we have a limited supply of grills and therefore can not guarantee availability. However, we encourage campers to bring their own portable grill.
What is your cancellation policy?
Regular camping reservations canceled before seven days prior to arrival are subject to a 50% refund policy. Reservations canceled within seven days of arrival cannot be refunded. However, all money left on the deposit for a canceled camping reservation can be transferred to another camping arrival date in the future without any additional fees. We can also move your entire reservation to a different date later in the season for no additional fee. Call to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. (715-247-3305)
